Sober Living in St. Paul, Minnesota

A serene sanctuary for men seeking to build new lives in sobriety.
Located in the heart of St. Paul, Minnesota, we provide a safe, supportive
environment where healing thrives and dreams come to life.

Our Philosophy

We believe in the transformative power of community. Buffalo House offers a structured, 12-step-oriented space where men in early recovery from alcoholism and addiction can support each other in sober living.

We celebrate sobriety and encourage residents to do the work of recovery, set achievable goals, and rediscover a positive sense of self. Many residents find renewed connections through our community and relationships formed at the Buffalo House.

Our Story

Established in 1999, the Buffalo House has been a beacon of hope for over 1,000 men in early recovery from Alcoholism and Addiction. We proudly provide a safe, alcohol and drug-free environment where residents can develop the support network and skills to build a new life.

Built at the turn of the century and retaining its historic character, the house has over 10,000 square feet with large common areas, 6 bathrooms, and 10 off-street parking spots, making it a uniquely spacious and comfortable home for our residents. Between 2010 and 2012, we completed an extensive interior restoration, and additional improvements are planned.

For the Buffalo House to continue this mission long after the current ownership moves on, the house is in the process of becoming a non-profit, with a board of experienced recovery community members to direct the Buffalo House into the future.
